Best Looking Field In Eky

Does look like a sweet place to be on a friday night with the crowd pumped... Lovin the checker board enzone (sp)...

Both of those fields are sweet, but I think if you put turf on Shelby Valley or Pike Central their fields would be as nice if not nicer then the two you asked about.

If there is a nicer complex than Belfry's, I will get in the car and go watch a game at that stadium. Belfry's field is outstanding!

Somerset has a nice football complex. This picture was taken in 2001 and since then the grass has been redone with bermuda, the parking lot has been repaved, and two additional lanes have been added to the track. Clark Field has one of the states largest capacities in high school with max at 7,500.

I agree Pikeville and Belfry have the best fields in Eastern KY that I have seen. I couldn't believe how well Pikeville's field took all the water that came down before the Pikeville-NCC game. I know it is turf but that was a monsoon and the field looked great when the game started.

Belfry's permanent field markings and red end zones make it very attractive. The large press box and abundant visitor seating makes it even better. By the way, what was the deal with the large, crooked letters on Howard Field. It really took away from the field's classy look.

This field has the largest seating capacity in Ky. high school football?

I was wondering that myself. I would have preferred they restencil the old lettering, which is much nicer.

Have to say that technically speaking the Letcher Central Field wasn't completely finished last night, but it is already something beautiful! Not as many seats on the visitors side as one might like, but still enough for most visiting crowds, I think. When it is totally finished, it will be unbelievable. It is so wonderful that our kids have a facility like this!!!!!!! So many good things for our kids... cheerleaders, dance team, choir, band, football team, JROTC cadets....That's just the kids who took part last night! We are so blessed.

If you would read more carefully I said one of the largest not the largest!!! I was wrong after looking it up Clark Field seats 7,000 not 7,500 which is listed as 6th highest in the state behind:

1. Manual- 11, 463
2. Paducah Tilghman- 8,500
3. Louisville Southern- 8,000
4. Male- 8,000
5. Daviess Co.- 7,500
6. SOMERSET- 7,000

What's that brown swatch between the hash marks, anyway? Don't see that much at Belfry anymore.

Granted, this picture is about four years old, but based on the bleachers I see in the picture, the stadium seating capacity looks like about 2500 maximum. Did they add on to the stands also when they remodeled the track?

No additions have been made, the picture has a very bad angle for the home side which is on the bottom. If looked at carefully the home bleachers are 180 feet long (60 yards) and have about 25-30 rows. I'm sure that the capacity (7,000) also includes the visitor side which is 120 feet long (40 yards).
