You are the man Sportsfan34, thank you. HC never gave up and maybe we will see you again. Big win but costly losing our star TB for the remainder of the yr. He is not replaceable but someone will step up and take on the challenge to replace Tommie. It will take 2/3 to do that but the Beechwood team will meet the challenge and now they will be even more dangerous. They will play for the state championship and win it for their brother.

- Oct 28, 06, 05:19 AM #22Cant speak for HC after this game because I didnt go and I am impressed with their season and effort in the 2nd half. But you cant tell me they will beat the Breds 2wice in one season. A buddy made an interesting comment last night when he saw this score flash on ICN6....watch out for NCC in the playoffs. They will end up knocking off Beechwood in the end and with Bankemper hurt... that is a huge blow to their rushing attack.

Yes, losing Tommy is a huge loss to Beechwood, but there is always a Tiger ready to step up. Nico? Are you listening? We also have Ryan Amelung who proved himself more than worthy last night.
I mean no disrespect to Dayton, but I am pretty sure Beechwood has 2 weeks to make the changes they need. It is playoff time and the Tigers will be ready!:fight:

Solid win for the Beechies. Once again they have proved they are still the top dawg in 1A up here. Don't overlook NCC though Indians. Can't wait to see the playoff matchups next week.

NCC/HC will be a heck of a game. I was very impressed with HC last night. Their O-line seemed to be able to give their QB all the time he needed, and as I said before, they never gave up. Definately a 2nd half team!
NCC is a first class team who has been there before and knows how to win. Should be a great game.
Won't be the same without those two next year.

HC stunk up the field the first half. The second half HC had every opportunity to make it a tight game and could not seal the deal.
Props to BHS!

Another thought.......although BHS was the better team last night...IMO both teams are evenly matched.

I was impressed how HC QB completed so many passes as he puts alot of air under most of them. Penny did what we thought, hit the line and bounce.
Ifa, woulda, coulda thing here but if #4 wouldn't have got hurt the game would have been alot worse. He was running possessed and HC couldn't stop him up until the injury.
BHS will regroup and someone will come thru to carry the load. Teipel and Amelung have been mentioned but don't forget about the "man child" Drew Davis. He is a physical specimen if they can only get him mean he could dominate a game. Drew, get ticked off!!!
Good luck to all the NKY teams in the playoffs.

I only saw Davis for a few plays, but he looked pretty darn mean on those plays. He could help and will be a real factor next year.

Any comments about officiating last night? Seems like there were alot of bad/missed calls on both sides. Heard some chatter that the crew wasn't who we were supposed to have last night. Anybody?

Not a rumor, the ref crew was changed from the original one scheduled due to that crew being scratched. Many bad calls more towards the home team than the visitors. Many missed calls both ways, more towards BHS being held on every play by the HC TE. The white hat was looking right at the boy several times and did not throw the flag. Several 15 yarders against BHS, one against HC. They do alot of talking, obviously we(BHS) talked alot also and got caught. I am sure they(the whole team) paid the price this morning after films as they were sure to be on the track to remind them of the 15 yarders.

After allowing Beechwood to dominate the first 1 1/2 quarters, HC seemed to settle down and tell themselves to just play football and not to worry about the score and magnitude of the game etc. They played much better with that mental outlook and actually outscored Beechwood 14-3 the rest of the way. I'm sure it would've been different with Bankamper in there, but my point is they quit thinking and just started playing football.
I really don't think HC can defeat NCC and Beechwood back to back, but I do think their program took another baby step ahead last night learning how to mentally prepare and play in a big game.
I think Beechwood is still on a level by themselves in Class A!
Good luck to all the remaining Class A teams!

Have we had some BGPers suspended? I thought there would be a few others posting about this game.

I dont know why you quoted me on this, because I said I dont think HC will beat NCC again. I been saying that for awhile now, and after seeing HC for the first time last night I am even more convinced that NCC will win the rematch next week in the playoffs...

Yeah I must say I dont think the officiating was good at all last night. For most of the game, all the calls were going against Beechwood. One of the calls the refs made almost could have single handily got HC even closer. After a completed pass for Beechwood the guy dove with the ball out to get more yards, and when he hit the ground the ball came out and the called it a fumble and HC recovered. And this was when HC had just scored to make it 13 point lead. So that call right there gave HC a great chance but they couldn't do anything with it. I dont think you can find a single HC fan that would say that was a fumble, because it wasn't even close to being a fumble..There was alot of calls that went against Beechwood for most of of the first 3 quarters. Then once the game went into the 4th quarter it seemed like most of the calls kept going against HC...The officiating for this game was just horrible for both sides...

I guarantee I would have got on here even if BHS lost and gave praise to HC. Their program has come a long way and everyone involved should be very proud, they just aren't at that top level yet. We all know it don't happen over night. Now that their kids have got the taste of winning it should carry on to the following yrs. I here they have a great freshman team to look forward to for the future. I have found out over the many yrs involved that winning the so-called freshman championship don't mean much. BHS has been beat alot of yrs in the freshman level but somehow come back in the next few yrs to win the district. So, HC, don't be satified w/this freshman yr keep working hard because it only gets harder.
