    Bardstown player seriously injured

Please keep Bardstown senior WR Demarco Phillips in your prayers. He injured his neck in practice Friday and was taken to Kosair for examination. The initial reports I got was it was a broken neck. He was to have an MRI done today, but I have not heard the results of it.

Demarco was also a key starter on the Tigers' 2008 Sweet 16 squad in basketball, and also does very well in the classroom. I hope to have some more information tomorrow about this.

What an absolute crusher. He is probably Bardstown's most outstanding player, but more importantly is an outstanding young man.

Football is a violent sport. It is so sad to see the injuries that can take place at times. God bless this young man and his family. There will be plenty of prayers going up from Carter County for this fella.
