They've been doing that for over ten years. Not sure if the call is made before kickoff or if the returner has the option.

Honestly has not been done near as much since Weinrich took over. Part of that however has been because of pooch kicks by opponents for fear of the return.

It was pretty much SOP for the returners at Highlands to cross one another back in the 90s while I was at Cov Cath...you never knew as the kicking team if you were covering a reverse or not.

OL needs improvement, very small and bull rushed. Too much penetration all night that is why screen was successful. Grady still not as sharp but not a lot of time. DE strength the pair dominated early. That showed well. DB work 18 and 11 were good for Bruins but they had a handful of drops. Greene played well! Armstrong love the Moxie watch the film you can’t get beat and thrown at 3 straight plays take the insult talk about a safety over the top, who in the stands didn’t see that coming.

Lastly, only a scrimmage for the life of me you can’t go to a running clock the last two minutes on a regular played game. Especially the time setup to set your on 4th down play.

I agree. Hopefully both sides came out of it without injury. Both teams got in some good work which is what was needed.

I'm not sure what adjustments were made at halftime but the running game seemed to do a lot better. Wes Bowling had some nice runs. It will be nice to have Coop back on the field. Seemed that Huddy and Ahlfeld are as advertised thus far and played really well. I think they both become even better with Coop back at RB. Very hard to plan for all 3. If King and Sisson can make a couple of catches at TE to soften things up, look out.

This D-line will cause problems for other teams. Zach Lewin was bringing it last night.

IMO, the DB's played much better than they did in the 7-v-7. Ballard had some crazy tall WR's. That long TD on 4th and 2 hurt but I thought Greene played great other than that one play. I'm not sure who's fault that TD was at the end of the game. I know Armstrong was getting picked on but someone has to recognize that and switch him out or put someone over the top. That is a simple fix IMO, as you said, I think everyone saw that play coming.

My advice: "Learn from it and don't look back...you're not going that direction!"

Well said! 100% agreement. Thought the oline added bulk in the third and was better. You don’t make up for one Mike Dunn that easily. Saw Merkle at game as well. Grow get better! I love football season!

No biggie on the KR reverse. Wasn't as much a criticism as curiosity. I go to 2 or 3 scrimmages a year and can't remember the last time that the special teams were live. Also didn't realize that it's part of HHS SOP. Just seemed odd to me. But have at it, more power to ya.

I actually like what they tweeted. And The entire tweet was Remember, 'Rome was not built in a day.' Instant success is never possible. Competence results only from sustained, consistent, self-disciplined effort over an extended period of time. – Bud Wilkinson

They were telling the boys , you’re not just going to be “better” or “ things fixed” tomorrow. It’s going to come by working hard and putting in sustained effort every day! That is a great message to kids after a scrimmage. No magic solution. Just keep grinding every day.

I talked to some key players yesterday. There is a very positive, genuine excitement about their potential. They believe that what they saw Friday was totally fixable with focused practice. That is exactly what you want from your stars. They see the process and vision, and appear to have bought in. For me, that gives me confidence in this group.
