Ballard won and I believe that is the correct score.

Pretty much What I expected.. a lot of rotations and personnel changes to get a lot of guys reps. for those saying Highlands couldn’t run, Schwalbach didn’t play and Huddy had very limited touches at RB. Bowling got most of the carries. Oline was changed every change of possession as they are still moving guys around. Ahfeld looked really good. Had some nice catches. Standout performance by Zach lewin with 3 or 4 sacks...

No surprise in that. Ballard needs to get him the ball.

I'll be honest I've never really been a "don't show anything in a scrimmage" kind of guy. I mean everyone knows most of everyone else's plays anyway. Small variations every year to keep people guessing......but a reverse on a kickoff in a scrimmage.

I am surprised they had kickoff returns in a scrimmage.

To be honest I didn't even think about that but you are right. Injury waiting to happen on play you can practice over and over.

Believe Ballard lost key running back for 4-6,weeks last night in scrimmage. But they have two others that are just as powerful carrying the rock.

I guess they were trying to see if it would work and in this case it worked for 85 yd TD.

Pretty common play by HHS. Typically there is either a reverse or fake reverse on every kick off. Not really sure why that is a big deal.

Ha yeah, if the ball is kicked deep enough and returnable the standard HHS return has been a reverse / fake reverse. It has been like that for like 30 years that I know. Its a tough play and gives nothing away, you could tell the opposing coach you're doing it. Its just so hard to see running down for coverage. Returning kickoffs that way actually may be safer, it turns into a sweep type of pursuit instead of head on full speed collisions.

On the other hand I agree there is no point to do kickoff in a scrimmage.

Ballard was ranked 10 in the 6A ranking.

My take Ahfeld played well. HHS needs to find a deep threat. Receivers are long but routes were slow and drag or Slant Ben your big TE on 5’5 corner not run a 5 yd out. Missed Coop. OL needs improvement, very small and bull rushed. Too much penetration all night that is why screen was successful. Grady still not as sharp but not a lot of time. DE strength the pair dominated early. That showed well. DB work 18 and 11 were good for Bruins but they had a handful of drops. Greene played well! Armstrong love the Moxie watch the film you can’t get beat and thrown at 3 straight plays take the insult talk about a safety over the top, who in the stands didn’t see that coming.

Lastly, only a scrimmage for the life of me you can’t go to a running clock the last two minutes on a regular played game. Especially the time setup to set your on 4th down play.

Should add early seeing a lot of rotations. Keep working. The Bruin fans represented well. Very nice folks. Good luck to both programs. Looking forward to the season.
