Not sure how much stock we should put in a meaningless 10th game for both squads that is out of district. If both teams are smart, they will rest key starters for the playoffs.

    This I agree with.

But some will argue you don't want to get rusty, either.

Completely misread that. Thought it said 4-A instead of 4-4. I complety screwed that one up on my own.

I like Ballard to win this one. Should be competitive game.

Fact is, no one in the great 8 (Hardin, Meade, LaRue, Grayson) has an elite win this year. E'town beat Franklin-Simpson, but a vastly mediocre and one-dimensional Meade County team also beat them.
Did I miss something? Who said it was a quality loss? I read the thread over several times and didn't see that. Can you highlight that? Again, way to spin it to the negative though! Still wondering about the sour grapes.

Speed? Southwestern has the fastest player in the state on their team?
Ballard's wins are against teams with a combined record of 21-24?
Ballard had team speed last year and the game went to overtime vs Central Hardin?
Great athletes + team speed = 49 point loss to Trinity?
I have seen Trinity twice this year vs Carmel and Moeller. When Trinity isn't playing, who else have you seen this year?????
I guess we will need to see for ourselves the outcome of Ballard vs. Central Hardin. This is important to these teams to set the tone for their upcoming playoff runs. Since I have been at every Trinity varsity game dating to October, 1993 the opportunity to see in person several other teams is limited. For the record, I do not have access to HUDL.

Team speed is not measured by one state champion runner. Your defensive linemen need to have quick feet. Your offensive line better have quick feet. Your QB has to possess escapability. If you are running a jet sweep, your jet better have some speed along some teammates who can block.

Ballard is winning this poll 10-6. The BGP voting public has an outstanding record for picking winners.
I do not worry about spreads.

Disagree, this game means nothing to Central Hardin. Play all starters and risk an injury prior to playoffs.
Southwestern passed the eye test and was quick all over the field, and trust me Vaught was twice as fast as anyone on the field that night.
When you base your picks based on teams you have seen within your district, you have a narrow perspective.
Not sure if Central Hardin will play all starters and for good reason. We have an opportunity to make a deep run in the playoffs and Central Hardin's goal at the beginning of each year is to win a region championship, not a meaningless 10th game.
