    5A #2 Covington Catholic vs. 6A Dixie Heights Predictions/Updates

After a scare last week, can Covington Catholic get back on track and dominate a neighbor? Or, will Dixie Heights play spoiler and upset Covington Catholics bid for a perfect season? Either way, the Colonels win, just pick your color - Red or Blue.

Queue up the gif from the Rocky movie. What should the red Colonels expect? Pain.

I kind of expect a shut out, I can't see the starters playing the 2nd half.

Long night for Dixie, even with a running clock.

The main concern for Cov Cath in this one is ensuring that nobody gets hurt. Otherwise, this will not be much of a game. Another complete mis-match.

CCH was 37 points better than Ryle in their first game, Ryle was 4 points than Cooper, and Cooper was 7 points better than Dixie. That's 48 points, by proxy.

CCH was 37 points better than Ryle, Ryle was 24 points better than Conner, and Conner was 35 points better than Dixie. That's 96 points, by proxy.

That may not be an absolutely homologous method of sizing the two up, but it still says something about what Dixie has going against them coming into game. Even if you average those two totals, we're talking a 72 point disparity.

I think the better questions for the poll might be "how long before the clock starts running" or "does Dixie get shut out this week for a third time in the course of four games".

Is there anything encouraging in the Dixie future that might get them competitive?

Their youth program started back up this year. That can only help.
