    3A #1 Boyle County at 3A #5 Lexington Catholic

Probably one of the more anticipated matchups of the week and maybe of the season. It doesn't get much better than Boyle County versus Lexington Catholic. Boyle County leads the series 14-13.

Boyle County (7-0) took a little while to wake up against Garrard County before throttling them 49-6. Boyle County had 7 starters out against Garrard County. Most of those guys will be back this week as you can imagine to take on Knights.

Lexington Catholic (5-2) found themselves in a dog fight against Western Hills last week winning 49-42. Wandale Robinson did a little bit of everything to keep them in the game. Beau Allen was nothing short of spectacular in the game amassing over 300 yards of offense.

Both teams are battle tested and ready to go in this rivalry. Who wins? Why?

I think Boyle County wins by 3 TD's. Both teams are going to be fired up but Boyle County is getting most of their guys back from being injured so that's going to make a huge difference.

If Boyle County is healthy, especially if Smith and Kelly are back this week I wouldn't expect this game to be close, just from the pressure by Kelly and Smith's ability in the secondary makes things more difficult for Allen and Catholic. If those two don't play it could possibly be a game. I'm assuming they are playing and going Boyle county 49-21.

Both teams have high scoring offenses. The defense that steps up will determine the outcome in this one. Boyles special teams are very, very good as well and could add a score or two on their own. No one has come close to scoring 40 on the Rebels and it might be hard for the Knights to keep Boyle from scoring that much or more.

Don't forget Hatter. He changes any team's offensive scheme with his quickness, size and aggressiveness.

I’m leaning towards a running clock. In Boyle’s favor of course.

I usually vote with a homer attitude on this game. But went with Boyle due to defense.

    Also:

    Parking alert.

This weekend is the Fall Festival at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary that is across the street from Lexington Catholic. So traffic and parking will be more than bad in the area. Would not plan on parking at LexCath/Clays Mill Elementary (or MQ obviously). So plan accordingly. Street parking is probably the rule of thumb and it may be a couple of blocks away or more.

I think that Boyle wins this bigger than I was thinking previously. They seem to be playing quite a bit better than Lexington Catholic now.

If Boyle is healthy I think they win somewhere in the 48-20 range

That is why they play the game and not go by what we think but I still think that is wishful thinking.
