2011 & 2012 Kentucky Future Stars (vs Tennessee)

You can follow the status of all former KY Future Stars via Twitter @Rhughes33rb. Big thanks to Coach Hughes for all he is doing for our youth - just my two cents but this is a great event for 7th and 8th grade football players in our state. Please see below for 2011 & 2012 All Stars moving on to the next level in college.

    Blake Asher - EKU
    Mason Alstatt - Wofford
    Connor Foos - EKU
    Devin Gentry - Georgia State
    Zy'Aire Hughes - Kentucky
    Devin Key - WKU
    Vince Lococo - Louisville
    Damon Lowe - EKU
    Max Martin - Louisville
    Nathan Murray - EKU
    Jailen Reed - Lindsey Wilson

Please add if I missed anyone. The list should grow over the next few days.

If memory doesn't fail me, Tennessee beat KY the 7th grade season in Overtime - blocked PAT. Kentucky lost the 8th grade version by a TD (televised on Fox Sports).

Great memories and look forward to watching the list grow over the next few days - and keeping up with the guys over the next 4 years.

2011 and 2012? Confused. Are you saying these kids played in the game and are now moving on to college?

Yes...the guys played in the game as 7th and 8th graders in 2011 and 2012. All of the guys were team mates on the KY roster.

Hard to believe these same players finished 3rd in the nation as FBU Kentucky members along with Drake Jackson UK, LaMarius Kinslow WKU, Kash Daniels UK, Tyler Garcia Lindsey Wilson, Zaire Hughes UK, Nathan Murray EKU,Mason Helton Lindsey Wilson, and several others never understood why this team never thumped Tennessee because in FBU they thumped everybody but Oregon after a 20 hr bus ride and little time to recoup.

The finals were in San Antonio that year. They were an impressive group of kids.

    Not the same programs.
Ky Future Stars only plays its Tenessee counterpart.

FBU is the team made up of KMSFA players

True - KY Future Stars is a different outfit...much different from FBU (although the 2 were once connected). The 12-13 guys at the top of this list played for KY Future Stars under Coach Rico Hughes.

Looks like 2016 tryout dates are set for April 23-24 in BG and Louisville. Two pretty solid locations to host a tryout. If you guys know any talented 7th and 8th graders, I highly encourage you to give it a shot. Guys from KY Future Stars (and FBU) are really doing a solid job in HS and graduating on to opportunities in college.
    Kentucky Future Stars

FYI - I don't work for them. Just a big fan.

I understand they are not the same. It have help coached the FBU 7th graders behind this group. We had tryouts and no kid had position on the team just related to who their coach is. I'm believe in the 2 yrs in was associated with Fbu ky 7TH and 8th grades we beat Illinois bad and an. AAU team from Minnesota 7th grade yr and was Regional champs. "As far as we could go." Eight grade year we smashed Tennessee, beat team Louisville. Beat Team south Florida 26-6 before losing to National Champion Georgia. Scoring the only points allowed on Georgia that yr.

I know that. They shared many of the same players. For instance Collin England was on both teams, as well as many others.
