Word has it that W-burg will have some new players for the 2008 season that will help them quite-a-bit. Anyone have any news on this that they would like to share?

I have heard some names mentioned like Ed Lawson, Justin Moore, and Jason Powers. All of which are coming from cross-town Whitley County. I don't know if there is any truth to any of this. We all know how rumors are.

These kids would certainly have to have a bona-fide change of address before their transfer.

Intent
Intent is difficult to prove one way or the other. where people have made mistakes is that they transferred BEFORE they moved (no name mentioned). If ENTIRE FAMILY vacates previous residence, has nothing to do with previous residence, moves to a new residence in the district, and then transfers schools, then typically that is considered bona fide change of address. Some people just don't seem to understand that no matter who you know, how much you lie, how many people you publicly slander...if you transfer BEFORE you move, you are going to be ruled ineligible.

The move before or after a transfer is irrelevant. If the purpose is for athletics then there is a possibility of ineligibilty. As I said earlier.

I agree, luckily for Williamsburg they are ranked in the top 20 in state academically and US Nes has them as a top five school in the entire state!

can't prove
You can't prove purpose. You can prove which occurred 1st.

Let us make that the last transfer interpertation comment and keep the discussion strictly to 2008 Williamsburg.

Regardless of interpretations of the transfer rule. I do believe that Coach Herron will not put a lot of stock in players that might not be there. I know Coach Herron and he will work with the kids that he can count on to be there in the fall. Most of those kids have been in the Williamsburg School System for a number of years and are true Yellow Jackets. A outsider coming in will have a hard time fitting into the Yellow Jacket fold.

Yellow Jackets 8-2 this year! Regular season! Possibility of the first region title ever! Hopefully 6 or 7 district title. I think Campbellsville will have a lot to say about that, along with the neighbors from the north Lynn Camp

Reguardless of all this transfer stuff, Williamsburg has a real nice team returning for 2008. I am sure Jerry wouldn't trade any of these returning players for unproven players. Williamsburg has some real winners on that team. What a battle it will be during week #7 at the "Burg".

Coach Herron certainly has a way of bringing out the best in his players. He expects alot out of them, not only on the field but in the community and most of all in the classroom.

I know that Coach Herron teaches the team concept and unselfishness. Certain kids and parents can fit into that, and some cant. Part of Williamsburg success is is base on its team chemistry and love for the school. Coach Herron needs to make sure that it stays intact to continue their success.
