Friday. I am told that we contacted Fairview about changing it to Thursday but it was not changed.

As for the football team / program , their number of players are extremely low. Fairview had some pretty talented kids that are / were very young in the Jr. High and JFL programs. Fairview's coaches are the Cooksey's, that name is a long standing one at Fairview schools. The father, Rex Cooksey was the head coach for years there and now his son has taken that title with Rex as the assistant / defensive coach there. I may be mistaken but I think that there's a Cooksey as the head coach in every sport at Fairview now.o hate it for the community and people, kids in Westwood.
Through the years, I have certainly had my problems with Fairview and my disdain for them was well known on here./ bgp. Those feelings mostly were with their coach / turned principle / turned superintendent and the AD / elementary principal that he hired at that time at Fairview. …. is jmo that the greed of a few cost the entire program, school system at Fairview. Those were well reported and documented in our local newspaper and regional T.V. station here
I do hate it for the people and the kids of Westwood and would love to see them keep the Fairview school system, teams and get the entire school system built back.
I guess the key question there is how are the Cooksey's viewed in the community - both inside and outside of Fairview?

The Cooksey's are viewed pretty well. They are pretty good people who are known to do what is needed to help their school and community. Normally, when Fairview is having trouble, they call Rex to take something over. He has literally coached about every sport Fairview has: Boys Basketball, Girls basketball, Football, Baseball and I think he even coached golf one time. Softball may be the only sport he hasn't coached. He's also been the Athletic Director several times.

I haven't been on bgp in a couple of days, I see that @Ram answered your question. Rex Cooksey has coached at other schools but has always returned to Fairview if a job was open. He's a Fairview alum and loyal to his home town and school. I respect Rex, his loyalty .
