#1 Belfry at #4 Central (3A Quarterfinals)Is there anything better, or more automatic, than a Belfry and Central matchup in the playoffs?
Well maybe if it is a championship game instead of a regional finals game.
The Pirates and Yellowjackets meet for the 7th time in 11 years. Central won the first 4 meetings and Belfry has won the last 2.

Long trip against a very good team but I believe Belfry puts away Central 49-35 in another classic game.

Nov 10, 17, 11:26 PM #3Belfry will win but it’ll take 4 quarters. Should be a dandy early on though!
Nov 10, 17, 11:49 PM #4Belfry will win this one by 2-3 scores. Good luck to both teams!
Nov 11, 17, 12:27 AM #5Game of the Week. Two of the finest programs in Kentucky. Will be a great one.
Nov 11, 17, 05:27 AM #6I'm going to choose Central, but could go either way.
Nov 11, 17, 06:42 AM #7It is always fun when these two match up. It has always been on a neutral site for all the marbles, but this time it will be on Central's turf. How much will the home field advantage affect the game?
Nov 11, 17, 07:07 AM #8Central has been next to impossible to knock off at home in the playoffs.
Belfry will have their hands full.

Nov 11, 17, 08:07 AM #10You will bear witness to the finest band and cheerleaders in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The drumbeat goes on the entire game. Pre-game, they are several blocks away but go so hard it reverberates throughout the city streets. They are frankly impressive, and intimidating. They sell a tremendous shrimp and fish sandwich at the visitor concession. You can see the tip of Louisville skyline from the visitors bleachers. There is a little church on the west side of the stadium just up the road that does parking for $5-$10. I recommend it. Oh, incidentally, the football team there is big, extraordinarily aggressive, and dominated by juniors.

Nov 11, 17, 08:27 AM #13The Wellman injury is a big concern for Belfry heading into this one.
When you discuss Wellman's impact you are talking about losing two of your best players. Not only is he an All-State caliber runner, you also lose an elite level LB. Wellman is the leader of this Defense and the guy who makes sure everyone is lined up correctly.
Wellman toasted the Yellowjackets in last year's State Finals for nearly 200 yards, 2 TD's, and added a pair of TFL's for good measure.
Hensley will get the job done at FB, but Wellman is the guy Belfry turns to when they have to have 3 yards and more importantly his role is vital on Defense.
The kid is tough as nails though, and it may require an act of Congress to keep him from getting out there.
