Highlands 2 Hopkinsville 1 (State Semifinals)

Luke Schweitzer scores for Highlands at the 20 minute mark in the first half. The game was interrupted by a weather delay about 5 minutes after Schweitzer's goal. Carter Holmes scores the second goal for the Birds right after the kickoff of the second half.

Highlands keeper Will Burnham had a save about 7 minutes into the second half, and then Hoptown's Jose Favela scored on a follow-up attempt following an assist by Zach Moore.

Congrats to the Birds as they advance to the state finals!

Hoptown at 2 hit the crossbar. So close to a different score. Great game but the weather was terrible.

Hopkinsville twice hit the bar on shots in the first half, including 30 seconds before Highlands first goal. Huge momentum swing. I don't see how either team played the final 20 minutes of the first half.

Not sure if this will show up, but crazy goal to start 2nd half. Someone should get the best quality video nominated for SCTop10.

    Uhhhh . . . Keeper?

You must watch this! Absolutely crazy! Have never seen this before at any level. Might compare to a basketball jump ball to start the game that gets tapped for a 3 point goal (never seen that before either). Someday this young man is going to be telling friends about this and he's going to win bar bets when he pulls out video proof. Fact it was the winning goal to put the Birds in state championship game even makes the story that much more unbelieveable.

Congrats to Highlands! Saw that 2nd goal for the Birds, ridiculous placement from that distance.

    Good luck against St. X.

KHSAA should be embarrassed for making kids play in the conditions that we saw in the first half. Signs were blowing on the field, sideways rain etc...

Rain is fine, but the way the wind was blowing and the debris that was flying around the field is crazy.
