It is bad when small schools like Lee Co,JBS,etc has to constantly defend their teams against people who probably have never watched them play. I bet the coach of this guys home team would probably not look forward to playing any of these mountain schools.

Thanks for the support. I think that us smaller schools should get more press than we do. We are doing what these 3a schools are doing but with 300 students.

I would like to see Clay and Lee go at it skinpig. that would be a good game.
- Jan 14, 06, 10:44 PM #25I agree, it would be a good game but I have to give Clay the edge. They have similar records but Lee lost to Jackson

- Jan 14, 06, 11:51 PM #26Lee County did lose at Jackson County in the first game of the season, but they missed 20 free throws, something that's unusual for Lee. I don't think the Generals would win a re-match. And Lee has some impressive wins over Johnson Central in the JC Invitation, two wins over Estill, two over Powell (who Clay narrowly defeated), and a win over Bell. They lost a close one by 5 at Perry.

I believe , if I'm not mistaken, and I'm not, SL has been beat this year. Must have been a shocker for your ego.

This has nothing to do with my ego. South has lost and will lose again. In My Opinion, mountain basketball is weaker than it has been in years. I am sorry that I spelled mediocre wrong and you should say "been beaten", not been beat. MEDIOCRE!!!!!

I think Leslie should be there for sure, I don't understand their thinking on that but JBS didn't just get there from one game. They have only been beat twice and one of those was Henry Clay. We had an injured player when Cumberland beat us by 2. Not excuses, just fact.

Another grammar lesson? You learn to spell and I'll check all my post for correct grammar.

It seems if you hit a nerve, someone comes back at you with your spelling or your grammar, and I have read some post that you just had to figure out what they meant. Just because some of the teams that were always on top are not this year doesn't mean that all the mountain teams are weak.

South should be on top. They won it all last year. You have a right to your opinion, but where does the need to put other teams down come from?

I have a question??? Pineville at 11-3 isn't being mentioned, is there a reason for that??

Big gap between #1 and #2.
- Jan 15, 06, 08:59 PM #39I agree. But a better word might be gargantuan gap.

- Jan 15, 06, 10:53 PM #40That is true. The way I see it is that some of the perennial powers of the last several years are down, some of the historically weaker teams (which are usually by circumstance the smaller schools) are up. That makes for a pretty balanced region and a lot of entertaining games and an overall feeling that lots of teams have a shot at winning the region. That's not putting any school down to say that "overall" the region is weaker then it has been in years, IMO. In fact, it's the truth. To think otherwise just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It's just the way things go, down years by 4-5 schools that are usually in the WYMT top 10 leaves the door open for other solid teams this season.
