Y’all have got to let it go. Every team except for a few making the football playoffs is just the way it is.

    Basketball>Football anyways.

After viewing scores from across the state I would say that the Semi-Final games have been fairly competitive in most districts. There has already been upsets, and barnburner games in most regions. To me, it's like saying in the NCAA tournament let's not play the 2-15 Seed games.

Oldbird is on target about this thread being football playoff related. We see a thread like this every year at football playoff time. The arguments I made in post #1 are some of the main arguments people make that there should be fewer teams in the football playoffs. There doesn't seem to be much debate here that everyone should be in basketball post season in spite of the lopsided early round games. I am glad to see so much belief that every team should be in the post season. I think the same arguments go for the football playoffs.

I knew his intent but wasn’t sure of what side of the football playoff fence he was sitting on.

I posted a great response, but then saw this thread was tongue in cheek. So never mind.

There were also two district upsets of 4-seeds over 1-seeds.

The thread is not really tongue in cheek. The arguments in post #1 are made every year in football. My point is why are the arguments considered reasonable in football but everyone smacks them down in basketball. If everyone agrees all teams should be in basketball post season, the same should be true for football.

And we have 4 over 1 seed upsets in football too. I think a football 4 seed has even made it to the final four in their class playoffs. What is the best a basketball 4 seed has ever done? Has a 4 seed ever won a regional?

Baseball, Soccer, Softball all follow the Basketball model I think...I'm fine with everyone having a shot at advancing at the end of the year. I also have zero issues with the current football playoffs either.

I think logistics comes into play for basketball. The proximity of the schools in each district are close.

Has a 3rd or 4th place finisher in a district ever won the state?
