    Open Job: Paul Laurence Dunbar

Just saw on Fayette County web site that the Head Basketball Coaching position at PLD was posted. Anyone know why Coach Chalk stepped down or he may have just retired. They will have one of the top two or three teams in the city this season. Just curious anyone know anything?

    10. No gambling, bookmaking or point spread comments are allowed in any of the high school forums. Figures of speech that use gambling terms may not be used in any of the high school forums. All gambling comments are permitted in the non-high school forums as long as they do not involve any high school sports, students, or student-athletes.

Basically since Chalk retired as a teacher he is required by FCPS rules to reapply for his coaching job. Which he is doing and will be “rehired”. It’s just a technicality and more FCPS red tape making things harder then they need to be.

Thanks for sharing that is crazy. I don't recall Billy Hicks having to do that at Scott Co. lol

He probably didn’t if it’s just a Fayette County rule. However I’ve heard of other districts doing something similar.

Yes talked to some people it’s a state or retirement rule you have to step down and wait 90 days then you can. So it’s just a rule. Glad he’s still coaching.
