Rumors were going around HHS that he had been fired but I was skeptical. If he says he's still the coach then I'd say there's no story until something changes.

Would having "left" imply that it was his decision, though?

Could he "have been relieved of his duties" and still not necessarily "have left"?

I think this one will be pretty clear soon.

They can't let him go as a teacher. So I'm sure he's still teaching.

As I said above, I think he still may be the coach officially, but I think they gave him a "quit or get fired" choice.

Not to get in too deep, but most close to the program were wondering if he would even be the coach to start the season. I won't elaborate further because this is not the place (and some would say I'm a biased UHA-Grad Haworth hater haha), but this is not a surprise for those who have been "in the know" this year.

The record was bad because of injuries, suspensions, tough schedule, but you could definitely watch them at times and could tell they were not focused as a team. They just looked like they weren't giving effort at times and did not play that typical aggressive HHS style he's become known for over the years.

I remember back in the day, Terry Hayes was fired but continued to work at the school for the next 5 year. And speaking of Terry Hayes_______that's another story I'm sure you all have seen/heard on the news recently.

The mother of his child lives in Springfield, so yeah, that's probably the case. She said it was a big hassle when he was at Casey Co. So with that in mind, look for Maze's next move to be within the 5th Region.

Seems like it's pretty obvious he wants to be nearby whenever McCurry wants to hang up his whistle at John Hardin.

The fact that the newspaper guy from the KNE tweeted that Haworth is still the coach means something is definitely up at HHS. A statement like that is not made unless something is up.

It's sounding like a power struggle.

I don't think it's exactly a power struggle but there are issues and someone is being a little more honest than someone else.

Seems like we've had Haworth staying or going threads at the end of every season for several years. He's been linked to other high school jobs, college assistant jobs, and who knows what else. It might be a situation where a fresh start is better for all parties.

For Almost every school the head Basketball coach has a year to year contract. The year isn't over yet. So I assume they offered Tim the chance to go get another job so they didn't have to announce that his basketball coaching contract wouldn't be extended another year.
