Open Job: Frederick Douglass (New School)

Anything out there on who this might be or do you think they will wait until the end of the season to start their search?

Did they ever decide what to call their team?

I was told by a pretty credible source, whom I will not name, that the position was offered to Doug Bibby but he turned it down. Don't expect an announcement anytime soon.

I would think they'd wait until after the season is finished before they hire.

I know of one guy who is trying to get it but I doubt he does. Took a team to multiple state tournaments.

On a related note, what happens with districts in the 11th region next year? There's already one 5 team district.

42nd District becomes a 5 team district as well.

A name to look out for to fill this position is Chris Stapleton. He was in the mix for some jobs in the NKY area last year.

Current top varsity assistant at Scott High, JV head coach, and assistant athletic director. Has had coaching stops at Pendleton Co and Mason Co where he also played at in early 2000's with Lofton and co.

He also ran a well respected AAU team (TBC Elite) with Brent Sowder

Will be interesting to see how he would fit in coaching with his exploding country music career.

If someone says Jason Burns, this thread will explode.

Frederick Douglas has the opportunity to answer a question for us. What if a school decided to search out the best and offer them jobs down the line until someone says yes? Instead of, lets see who applies and have them interview with 12 people 10 of whom have no say or idea whats going on.

I heard it through the grapevine that it may be former Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon.
