Weyer was unstoppable, don't remember final stats but he had to be over 20 points.

Both should apply for admission to the GCL. First to 35 wins.

    NewCath 03-15-11-07---36
    Brossart..12-09-06-03---30

    NewCath

    Weyer 23 (0 in 4th Q)
    Neff 5
    Ludwig 3
    Moeves 3
    E. Anderson 2
    FT's - 8/13

    Brossart

    Zai 9 (0 in 2nd half)
    Schultz 7
    Crawford 6 (0 in 2nd half)
    Rolf 4
    Hickman 4
    FT's - 3/5

It was a packed house on Senior Night for this annual battle royale, as cars were lined all the way up the hill and even in the old K-Mart parking lot (not a fun walk whatsoever for those that had to make).

It was by far NOT the prettiest of wins, but a win nonetheless, as the Breds overcome a HORRIBLE night shooting and turning the ball over to beat the visiting 'Stangs.

Playing without Brennen Hall (concussion precaution), the Breds turned the ball over a good 15 times EASILY, and had nobody willing to drive to the basket. Ben Weyer put the team on his back and did all he could, scoring 15 of the Breds 18 1st half points. Weyer easily finished with a double-double and added at least 6 blocks.

Brossart had everything going their way in the 1st half, taking their time running their sets, and getting good looks. However, in the 2nd half, NewCath amped up the defensive pressure and the Stangs were hurt with Jackson Crawford saddled with 4 fouls (5:06 3rdQ).

From a basketball fans point of view, the 4th quarter was just dreadful to watch (10 total points scored), but this is what you get when these two hook up.

NewCath is off until Friday nights match-up with the Holmes Bulldogs at BB&T Arena.

Ncc definitely missed hall tonight! Ludwig and Luke need to step up and start knocking down perimeter shots if they plan on winning the 9th. In my opinion Neff needs to see more min and probably should be the 6th man...

Their problem is TRYING to knock down perimiter shots and having NO ONE (other than Hall) taking it to the hole. Penitration is the key to everything and they just don't do it.

Too much Ben Weyer on this night for the Mustangs.

Mustangs lead 12-3 after one, then Ben puts up 12 in second stanza plus a 3-pointer from John Ludwig gives the Breds 18 and trail 21-18 at intermission.
Ben again huge in the third as Luke Moeves becomes only the second person in the game, not named Ben Weyer to score as Breds take over 29-27.
Ben fails to score at all in fourth quarter, but Mustangs in the midst of a 3-15 night from beyond the arc, and all three of the connections coming from Jake Zai back in the first half. Logan Schultz scored Brossart's only 3 points (traditionally) in the quarter as Breds win 36-30.
36 is the Breds lowest total output of the season. They scored only four other field goals in the game besides Weyer. This was also a season low scoring output night for the Mustangs.

The Carothers Road hill has not been kind to our Mustangs who haven't won there since February 15th, 2002 - our sixth consecutive loss at NCC.

Might have been the 6 fouls to 1 called in Brossart in the 3rd quarter

Jackson Crawford gets his 4th foul while back peddling with his hands straight up on the air

Weyer must have the word out.....protect Benny

No need for a refund. These 2 teams pounded on each other for 32 minutes. Great game to watch. Defense was intense. It was not a slow down game except for a minute or two early in the third by NCC. Nice win by the Breds with Crawford on the pine for a lot of the game in foul trouble and Hall sitting out for NCC for a concussion.

Nothing like watching two neighbors trying to "work it out". It was fun watching all the kids from St Joe during the jv game. Their play was just as spirited as the varsity since they've known one another since the first grade. Good luck in your respective regions.

The Mustangs lost 2 goes this week where they couldn't make 3s.... in either game one extra 3 per half and the outcome could have been completely different. ...they've shot the 3 well all year
