Great way to close out an otherwise very competitive game! Rock played hard, I tip my hat to that!

Hager becomes unguardable when he gets away with the push off. He is too big and strong to stop.

As I've said in the past, push-offs on drives, whether by Hager or most any guard, usually follow body contact by the defender (that isn't being called). Much like big men, as a big, strong guard, he just doesn't get the benefit of the blocking and hand check calls on the perimeter that smaller guards get.

You're probably right but he played in the middle of the zone last night with Faulkner out top. Good fight out of the Rockets. When Dow busted up Gentry that kind of took some momentum away from Rockcastle.

He wasn't in the middle too much. I'd say about 1/4 of the game. Personally, for teams that want to zone Mercer, I think that's their best strategy. It works very well.

I've asked some people and no one saw how Gentry got busted up. I'm going to try to look at the film.

Took a hard forearm from Dow is what it looked like to me, not intentional looking but hard nonetheless. Mercer is really good. Thats about the 5th time i've seen them play this year in person. They don't really wow you they just methodically beat you.

They are a well coached team. People can say whatever they want about Mercer County but the God's honest truth is that they are a well coached team and Coach Cook has done a fantastic job this season.

i concur, it'll be a slug fest Monday night between them and the Warriors. If the SW plays like last night ill take the Warriors by 2.

I can't take anything from that game because Lincoln quit early in the second quarter. I do look forward to watching that game on Monday.

Rockcastle has to feel good about their future. They start four juniors and really played well down the stretch. Between Gentry, Noble, and Cornelius, as well as some others coming off the bench, they could be very good next year.

According to stats reported to KHSAA, Will Hager was 2 assists shy of a triple double! I'd be curious to know how often that feat is reached. His line; 20/12/8, with 3 steals too boot.

That's not his first one this year.
