    Mason County 91 Ashland 80

Final. Good win for the Royals especially how they had been playing of late.

Mason plays their best game of the year as they had Ashland their third loss of the season. Xylon Frey had a career high 25 and Chase Villers had 41 with 24 in the fourth. Mason just backed up and let him shoot and he was on fire. Mason now 15-10.

@JDEaston, I think I may have jinxed your Tomcats in the rankings thread. For weeks, I've been wondering if/when we'd see Ashland crack the top 20. I just had to open my big mouth this morning.

Apparently, Ashland forgot to pack their defense when they boarded the bus for Maysville. The Tomcats have been strong on the defensive end all season, only surrendering 53 ppg. Sounds like they got into a track meet and just couldn't keep up.

It was a track meet with either side playing much defense.

This team can beat most teams on any given night, however, I just can't see them doing it three in a row that they would need to in the 10th come tourney time.

They have beaten Male, Scott and Ashland. Not bad at all. Lost just as many or more ugly ones, too.

Well, I guess this time Coach Biggs can be blamed for the Ashland lost!

    Good win for Mason County.

Might be a case of addition by subtraction.
