    Coastal Carolina, Marshall and Transy...

That's an interesting list. Did he have offers from CC and Marshall? Any other D1's or D2's?

Remember, Kyle is a 4.0 who has a 33 on his ACT (Number 1 in his class as well). This prompted more coaches to offer preferred walk-on spots to a 6'7'' kid that can shoot without having to waste an athletic scholarship. All in all Kyle had about 30 offers from NAIA to D1. Granted he may have been red-shirted and got very little playing time at some, but an offer is an offer.

In the end Kyle chose to go to a program where he has a chance to play and that has a strong education as he wants to be an engineer. I believe it was a great fit. I hope this answers your question.

Congrats to Mr. Christon as well. Really glad to see Transy still investing in local kids, and it should be fun seeing these guys do work for the Pioneers.

I really liked Gullet when I saw him at State two years ago. I told a few people that if you'd have taken away any knowledge about he and Hall, that you'd have thought Gullet was the one who was more hyped. Obviously, he was probably playing a good game that night and it isn't meant as a knock on Hall, just a compliment to Gullet.

That'll give Transy a nice haul of Schuh, Theobald, Christon and Gullet from the 2015 class. That's an impressive incoming freshman class for Transy.

I agree with all the aforementioned comments. Its great to see Transy getting quality kids from Kentucky that know how to win and have done it on the big stage. I think coach Lane's program has a very bright future as all these young men can play and will compliment each other tremendously.

As for the comparison between Gullett and Hall (both of which are great players) I will share a story with you. At the KY/Indiana Junior All Star tryout's in between Hall's Junior and Senior year, the coaches went through a series of scrimmages and drills. Hall did not want to be there and did not participate in the drills and only took 2 shots total in about 5 short scrimmages (Scored no points). Then the coaches did a drill where everyone lined up under the basket (defense) and one person had the ball up top (offense). To entice Hall, the coaches asked him to come out and play offense first. The rules: If you score you stay up, if you miss or turn it over the defensive player goes to offense and you go to the back of the line.

Hall went through the line almost 3 times before they stopped the drill and they players that were there that day included Justin Johnson, Jackson Davis, Kelan Martin, Quentin Snyder, Brandon Hatton, etc. Hall sit back down after that drill.

Point - When he wanted to play, Hall was unbelievable and all the hype was real (His potential will not be seen for a long time, just wish he had decided to continue to play).

Another story about Hall. When he was asked to try out for the Louisville Magic between his Sophomore and Junior Year he quickly began starting at the 4 with Deangelo Russell and Quention Snyder in the back court. They broke top 5 in the nation that year for AAU squads and won a big tournament in Indy that summer. After the championship game (when Brad Stevens offered Hall) the coach of the Louisville Magic said in his press conference that Russell may be his best player, but Hall is his most important.

Shane Hall could play guys and he was not over hyped. Kyle Gullett can play as well and was way under hyped (many times over shadowed by Hall - but he proved it this year). But these are just my opinions.

Wow! Didnt realize how much talent Brain Lane has coming in! Will Transy keep all of them on the roster or red shirt some of them after the summer based on performance? How will it work with so many coming back and so many coming in?

I don't believe they redshirt anybody. They carried about 20 players last year from the looks of their website. I am sure that they will have a JV team.
