If your school is on a Snow Day is your Basketball Team permitted to play that night?

I think we will not see many games played this Friday or Saturday if the weather forecast is true.

Schools also consider student athletes driving home at 9 or 10 at night when road may refreeze.

I've known of some instances where it was left up to the visiting team to decide whether or not the game got played. Taking a personal car/truck on snow covered roads might be doable...but, a full-size bus, in the dark, on somewhat foreign roads, is a different story. The home school would give an update on how things were locally, and then deferred to the visiting school on whether or not they wanted to make the trip.

Christian County cancels all extracurricular activities if school is canceled.
Here is the kicker though. If school is canceled on Friday, all activities over the weekend are also cancelled, nor can teams travel to any activity. That second part baffles me.

Unless they've changed it this year, Oldham schools can play on snow days. Allows for the possibility that the roads will have cleared during the day; I like the policy.

Holmes will usually play if school is out, but not sure about tomorrow, they are at BB&T with some of the county schools involved in the 3 games.

I understand the possible reasons for having a school canceled = activities canceled policy, but I think you trust your school administration to make common sense decisions.

I’ve seen school called off and the temps warm up to the 40s and all the snow was gone by lunch.
