    Clay Co: 2000 Wins

According to the Kentucky High School Basketball Encyclopedia Clay Co had 1936 wins at the end of the 2013 season. Adding their 23, 24 and 20 wins over the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons that would put them at 2003 wins in their history.

I believe this would make them the first school in the history of the KHSAA with 2000 victories.

If any of this information isn't correct I apologize, but thought it would be worth pointing this out.

So they don't even have 1,207?

I'm guessing it's how the KHSAA dictates it. The encyclopedia has some inaccuracies, but I am not sure how the win/losses that they have would match up what the KHSAA has on record.

I wonder if it could be because it was known at Manchester High School until 1938... That may be the reasoning behind it. That still doesn't dictate why they are not on the all time list that the KHSAA has. Based on what I have noticed with Clay County is that from 1968 to 1994, they did not have a double digit losing season and won 20 or more games (including several years of 30 or more).

I submit stats constantly to the KHSAA for various teams when records are broken, etc. and have the most likely explanation for why Clay County is not in the posted record book. No one has filled out the paperwork. If the proper paperwork is filled out, the record will be reflected when the book is updated each August.

I would bet even money no one has submitted the paperwork to get the record acknowledged in the book. You must fill out the form found online, get proper signatures and explain the record in writing, and have supporting documentation for your claim. Once mailed in and accepted the KHSAA will keep a running tab for wins. I have been able to get several mountain teams in the record books with newspaper clippings, video, etc. (which is usually the hardest part). I cant imagine the work it would take to validate all the wins for Clay County, but if someone took the time, it would only make the record more complete and Im sure the KSHAA would be happy to review the claim and add the entry. They have always been very nice and easy to work with when it comes to records and history of their sports.

Looks like it but seemed like they won about 1,000 when Richie was in school.
