Davidson is not among the giants of Division I, but I recall Steph almost leading them to the Final Four. The same Steph UNC, Duke, NC State passed on.

It's not everyday a HS player is compared to Larry Bird.

My buddy played at Alcorn State, his name is Larry Smith. They called him Mister Mean in the NBA for about 12 years. Larry had NO offers other than Alcorn State, and he is now an NBA exec. You do not need to play at UK to get into the NBA.

There have been ten thousand "high school Larry Bird's" since the mid 70's. None of them became LARRY FLIPPIN BIRD. Zero for ten thousand. Stop. PLEASE...

No one said he is THE NEXT LARRY BIRD. I saw both play in high school, which I assume you did not, and said Carson Williams has many of the attributes Larry displayed in HIGH SCHOOL. Like comparing Curtis Bostic to Mick Cronin. Wink-wink. My buddy said to add that last line and I do not get the joke. Do you?

No, not at all. I completely understand your point, but unfortunately I didn't get to see Larry Bird play in HS. I am a huge Carson Williams fan, so if you say they are comparable at the HS level I'll have to take your word for it.

I just think it's tough for people b/c the comparison is with one of the all-time NBA greats. Most people only know Bird late in his college years and in the league, not what kind of player he was like in HS.

I'm not hating about this thread b/c like I said I believe Williams should be the 2016 Kentucky Mr. Basketball. I just hate some of the negativity by others.

I'm with you. This thread was for the 8th Region folks who know Carson Williams. Unfortunately, a bunch of 9th Region people started adding their venom to knock him. Hopefully Owen County can win the state and a lot of people will see the light.

You said flat out Carson Williams is a better version of Larry Bird in high school. One Larry Bird that was recruited to Indiana at the peak of their prominence in NCAA basketball. The other recruited to NKU while playing on the premier AAU circuit and seen by every high major coach on the planet.

And your joke is quite hilarious. Curtis is making pennies on the dollar these days. Hope he enjoyed himself...

I've not seen anybody knock Williams. Most on here think he is a great player.

What they are knocking is your comparison of Williams to Larry Brid.

Can you enlighten us on this? My buddy was very cryptic, but it sounds like a good thread in another forum maybe?

If you make this a topic in the controversial issues forum, I would wager a milk shake that it will shatter the BGP record for views and posts! Land sakes!
