Gym floor has been refinished along with new paint for the gym. The facility is looking very nice for the upcoming season.

Great lineup of games, I may have to jump on the Double A and head down to see Future Cat Wiggins.

Tried hard to get Highlands in. Couldn't work it out. I hope you get to come down.

Here is something I found on Huntington Prep:

Next generation in place at Huntington Prep
It hasn't taken long for head coach Rob Fulford to build the Huntington (W.Va.) Prep program into one of the most powerful in high school basketball. It's no secret that Canadian talent has been a big part of building the program and it looks like things will stay that way.

Last year, Negus Webster-Chan and Stefan Jankovic helped lead the program before moving on to Missouri. This year, the No. 25 player in 2013 Xavier Rathan-Mayes (visiting Florida State this weekend) and the nation's top player in 2014 Andrew Wiggins lead the Canadian charge.

Wiggins will be a major factor for Huntington Prep this season.
But, Wiggins and Rathan-Mayes aren't alone this year as class of 2015 prospects Montaque Gill-Caesar and Nevelle Provo are ready to step into major roles.

A physically gifted 6-foot-5 small forward, Gill-Caesar or "Teki" as he's known to his teammates is ready to burst on the scene. At least if his one on one battles with Wiggins during early workouts are any indicator.

"The main thing he does is that he doesn't back down from Andrew," Fulford told Rivals.com. "If Andrew scores, he's coming right back at him. That's the thing about him, he's always going right back at him.

"He's a scorer. He's a slasher, he's strong, he can shoot it and he's got a great body."

Because he's so young and spent most of the summer playing on the 15 and under level, Gill-Caesar is still relatively unknown to high level college coaches but that will be changing soon enough.

"It's still early and not really everybody has seen him play," said Fulford. "But when the ninth and tenth of September come around and coaches start coming by he's going to get plenty of attention.'

While Gill-Caesar is a wing scorer in his first year in the program, Provo is a 5-foot-11 point guard ready for his second year at Huntington. A clever playmaker, Provo has worked hard on his body, shed some baby fat and the native of Halifax, Nova Scotia is ready to take the next step in his development.

"He came in last year and had to change his body. He's put on 15 pounds of muscle and grown into his body type. He's not the most athletic guy but he's got a great change of pace.

"He's really improved since last year and we're expecting big things out of him."

I wish I could expound on the Scott County deal, but I shall refrain. Suffice to say, glad to have Coach Collins and Portsmouth on board. Should be a contrast in styles for JC and a good matchup.

And for the record, when Coach Morgan from Arlington Country Day sent us his roster last week, Ray Kasongo was on it.

Shane Hall and JC vs. Scott County should be fun to watch too.
Scott County better be ready to go against "8" on the other team.... if you klnow what I mean.

I have seen how the offcials handle what they consider to be "big time" teams in that event.

Scott County isn't coming. And this is the first time this event has been held, so you must be confusing this event with another. And there are officials from the 11th and 10th coming also. So, maybe good thing for everyone. I can vow that Bob Kouns won't be mediating, he's the AIT guy. Perhaps you're mistaking this for that.

Yes, I guess I meant either the AIT or a Christmas tourney that Boyd County High School hosted in past years. I can't rememeber the exact details... one of the two. Thanks.

When I first read this I though it said he would be there to "coach".
