    Bowling Green 72 Hopkinsville 55

Bowling Green shot 54% from the field and Hopkinsville did not. Jalen Johnson did not play most of the second half (knee) but that was no factor in the game. Hoptown shot just 35-percent from the field. Jarius Key (22/10) looked real good.

Wasn't there a thread about Bowling Green being really bad or something? Possibly a little premature. This is a nice win for them.

Can't ever count BG out. They're always going to come up with a competitive team.

It’s definitely a factor in a loss if one of the best players in the state did not play most of the second half and was not near 100% when he did play.

Hoptown was losing by 15 points with him on the floor. Bowling Green got too many good looks at the basket and Hoptown had no answer for Jarius Key

I get what you’re saying, but I think I read Johnson had 16 points at halftime. Considering the Tigers scored 25 points total, and they had closed within five at the half, that would seem to be plenty big.

It’ll be interesting to see what round two looks like in nine days if both Johnson and Cager are around the whole time.
