Bottom line is, any banners or hardware that exists as part of Augusta's recent success are forever attached to Coach Hinson, the rest of the coaching staff and the players.
I wish success to both Coach Hinson at Bracken and Coach Kirk at Augusta.
This... I believe both schools got a good coach who will stay at their respective schools for a long time. When talking to some Augusta people the other day they were impressed with Kirk and are glad they have someone who will be willing to stay regardless of the future the program may hold. They like people to stay there I guess... I would assume the same could be said for Hinson at his respective school.

There is your answer why you have lost so many games and for the last three or more years you do not have a district banner placed in your gym. Just keep thinking that away Bracken Co. and Hinson, that it does not matter if you win it only matters how many points Crawford makes in a game. Now that's what I call great coaching and wonderful support from the Bracken Co. Fans. Remember everyone when Bracken Co. Losses it really does not matter if your team wins it only matters if Crawford score points, that's the new Ky. High School basketball rules. No wins matter! It only matters if Crawford scores there is no more winning against Bracken Co. Hey your team does not even have to play, just let Crawford score!! You don't even have to show up for the district games just let Crawford score. Lol Go Royals!! Thank God I live in Mason Co.!!

or 17 years. Last District title was 1999.

    Thank you!

I think the reason this thread got so bad was because people got tired of hearing Polar Bear fans talk so much about how great Hinson is. The school hasn't had a district title in 17 years and if it doesn't happen this year then it WILL happen next year. So yes I see why they're so excited but calm down. Your squad has 9 losses this year, they aren't the favorite to win and are 1-3 in district play this season. Take a chill pill and drink something other than that Brooksville Kool-Aid.

I may have gotten of line at times in this thread but hey that's what happens when I get angry. But at the end of the day I meant no disrespect to to players at all, I know how hard they work to be in these positions. Just wish some of you had other hobbies than to sit on the internet all day and talk about them constantly, do you not have jobs?

I have found this thread to be very entertaining. What is laughable to me is to say that any player is unstoppable. I love watching Austin Crawford play but no he is not unstoppable either. Last year he put up 44 against Pendleton at BC. In the return game at PC he was held to one two point basket and three free throws. Now I will admit his coach made no adjustments at all to help free him against the box and one defense. I believe Jake Ohmer has been shut down a few times and most of us know what kind of scorer he is. I can remember Darius Miller having a tough game against Bryan Station at The Fieldhouse several years ago. All players can have an off night and can be stopped if the competition is good enough.

Does anyone know if Bracken County will be using the shuttle bus for parking issues? I had to ride it the year before. I enjoy the tournament at Bracken, smaller gym, better atmosphere. All the other complaints are all part of the experience

There may be some overzealous Bracken faithful/fans that think Coach Hinson will bring some much needed stability that has been lacking over the last several years, but there are those who need to be able to distinguish between being critical of Coach Hinson and those overzealous fans. I would assume as with any new coach of a program, that Coach Hinson would love to experience immediate success, but he made it clear from day one that this was not going to happen overnight and that it was about building a program, instilling a winning culture, etc. Which appears to already be happening. His presence and that winning attitude is definitely being felt in the middle and elementary schools, which is where it starts.

On a side note, if some comments from anonymous posters on a message board about a high school coach and teenagers are actually making you angry, then perhaps you're the one in need of some hobbies.

I'll give you my short rundown of the tournament:
    1. Mason County- They are the favorite to win with probably the most athletic team
    2. Augusta- They have the most leadership because they have been to the big final games 3 times and won
    3. Bracken County- Polar Bear fans are excited because for the first time in 17 years they have a chance to win a district and beat THE county
    4. Saint Pat- This program is on the right path and have surprised a lot this year.

IMHO, Mason County got the worst draw because Bracken County has played them closer than anyone. And Bracken County got the worst draw because this is their biggest loss to a district opponent (5).

I'm thoroughly enjoying this small, I wouldn't call it a rivalry, but it's something. It makes the game worth more to the students because they DO NOT want to lose to Mason County. If Augusta plays Mason in the finals I will quietly be sitting on the Augusta side with a black Bracken County shirt for a one night only special. Because I don't want to see Mason win their, what is it now, 37, 38 districts since 1960? Bracken has 24 titles since 1925. And Augusta's I can count on one hand I think. Let small schools have the glory for once and get excited about something that rarely happens. History and tradition doesn't mean winning.

I agree there isn't a single player in the region that can stop Crawford from getting to the rim, but he cant beat teams by himself. I think you will see the same Bracken team again Crawford score 30 some Jones plays weak and can't keep up with the pace of the game Enges will try and make someone do something stupid only for himself to lose his head Williams is a streaky shooter but that's all you will get from him and the younger boy they bring off the bench I think is a freshman is defiantly not ready for this yet.

This was not a call out it just seen Bracken play a lot this year and this is what I have taken from a combination of games, I don't mean any disrespect towards any of them. I hope the best for these young men and hope they pull the "upset" off I have pulled for them in a lot of games this year and I will be in attendance for the Mason game as well cheering for them to win. Would love to see an Augusta/Bracken match up again would make it very interesting. And as for the Snickers I'll defiantly take them.
