    2A Classic

I have been seeing a lot of games lately listed as being part of the 2A Classic. Originally I assumed that this was something similar to the All A Classic, however, you have teams like Scott, Holmes, Bourbon Co, and many more that are clearly not 2A schools. Can anyone provide details on what exactly this tournament/championship is and what were the requirements to get in?

This may be over simplistic. Pretend there are only three basketball classes; this is the middle class of the three.

They plan on adding other sports to the mix as they go. This is similar to what the All A Classic did as well. It started with basketball and other sports were added later. (Baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, and golf)

To be eligible the enrollment is that of schools above the "All A" threshold up to 1,000 students.

The tournament is on to the Sectional semifinal rounds. The tournament began with 42 teams. I believe there's 20-25 teams that were eligible based on enrollment but declined an invitation.

    Section I
    Calloway County vs Glasgow
    Webster County vs Allen County-Scottsville

    Section II
    John Hardin vs LaRue County
    Christian Academy-Louisville vs DeSales

    Section III
    Scott vs Mason County
    Bourbon County vs Mercer County

    Section IV
    Lawrence County vs Morgan County
Knox Central awaits the winner after defeating Bell County.

Winner and Runner Up of each section advance to the statewide part of the tourney.
