13th Region 2010-11 Boys Basketball- Who's on top?

Who should be the best teams in the region this year? I know Corbin lost a lot, but they are still Corbin. I look for Clay Co. to also be very good. What say you?

I agree. South Laurel and Clay also too have very competitive teams. Think the regon is more wide open this year than usual.

That's the top six. Harlan County is pretty close to the Whitley, South, Corbin level. Barbourville and Harlan are the top Class A teams.

Clay will be the top dog. But don't count out Corbin and South.

That is probably the highest I have ever seen Whitley Co. ranked in a preseason ranking. Do they have a lot coming back this year?

Whitley has a real nice group of seniors. It's the best chance they've had to win the district in many years. I wouldn't rank them ahead of Bell though.

It seems like the region is more wide open than its been. I look for Harlan Co. to be pretty good also, I saw them this summer at the state AAU tournament. There is probably 6 or 7 teams going in that are good solid teams from what I've seen and heard.

I saw Whitley this summer at camp they seem to have a well balanced team. They have to big men that compliment each other very well. I think it will come down to their guard play. Their guards looked solid as well. I think Knox Central, Bell and Whitley are pretty even matched up. I have seen all three play alot. Barbourville will be no slouch either. I totaly forgot to list them.

You are 100% correct. I have watched all these teams play since middle school. It will be intresting to see which kids have applied their self to a lot of practice. I would like to wish all the teams good luck and good health.

Corbin will be hard pressed to be a contender this year. In addtion to losing 4 good seniors, a senior to be is probably not going to play and their best young prospect is moving out of state.

Lynn Camp just has one guy back. I don't see them in the top 10. North Laurel lost a lot, but I'd be surprised if they couldn't beat Lynn Camp.

I believe Clay Co. could be a top 10 team in the state next season. I also believe Bell Co. will be in that top 25 range.
