    "King" Kelly Coleman passed away

In my opinion, the greatest player to ever play high school basketball in Kentucky, "King" Kelly Coleman passed away today. I was at a gathering in Wayland two weeks after the state tournament. About 50 of us got together because Kelly was not doing well. Late in my career I had the pleasure of spending some time with him at several events.

My heart is filled with prayers for all those in Wayland and around the state.

I do not know what the arrangements are at this time.

A fine man and great basketball player. Grew up on his legend and was lucky enough to meet him on a few occasions. RIP Mr. Coleman. Prayers to the family.

My father played in the '57 Sweet 16 and would always tell me about KKC's '56 appearance when we would take our yearly pilgrimage. RIP to one of the greatest legends to grace the state's hardwood.

Visitation is at the Wayland Gymnasium on Friday. Wayland about to be hit with a rush of tourism, hope they are ready.
