    Default Ryle 10 Cooper 4

Ryle was in control of this one from the get-go. Gorbandt goes 4 innings (2 earned runs), Hensley pitches 2 innings (0 earned runs), and Dice K (2 runs, not certain if both earned) pitches final frame. Lots of Raiders had a good hitting game. I know for certain Lonkard and Clarkson (2 doubles) had 3 hits each and Hempel and O'Bryan had 2 hits. Raiders pulled off a double suicide tonight (runners at 2B and 3B both score on suicide bunt) - one of the coolest plays in baseball.

Huge seeding game for the Raiders on Wednesday against Boone. Game played at Ryle's field.

Pretty much sums it up. Cooper just not enough experience to deal with upper teams. Cooper started 3 Freshman and 2 Soph's. One of the two runs were earned in the 7th. I'm actually impressed Cooper took Boone and Ryle the full 7 to be honest.

Was that Thompson who started for Cooper? Whoever it was I thought he did a decent job. Unfortunately, Cooper just has to play a near flawless game to have a chance to beat the likes of Boone, Ryle, and Conner. There are clearly some solid players for Cooper, just not enought of them right now. Their time will come soon enough and when it does the 33rd will be brutal (and unfair, but that is for another thread).

No, Thompson pitched Saturday so Bjurquist pitched this game. He didn't do too bad but you are correct, Cooper has to have zero walks, and zero errors to compete. If Thompson is "ON" as he was against Boone, then they have a chance. The Boone game was 4-2 and one inning Thompson has two walks and an infield hit before giving up a 2 out bloop hit to Cotton that scores two for the difference in the game. Now, Boone is a much better team but if Cooper has no walks or errors, they can compete. The 33rd District tourney will be a battle.
