Good to see Casey getting back into the flow after that basketball injury.

I'm sure this game will help Casteel as well. Looks like he was strong except for one inning. Legit competition for the young lefty.

That should help put Casteel's performance in perspective. And it really came down to 1 bad pitch. Great game by the young lefty!

This guy was called safe at second after a great throw and tag by Kennedy and Schneider. Next batter hit a 3-run homer on a rare mistake pitch by Casteel.

Great picture by the photographer...not sure who to give credit to.

The picture shows what would have been the 2nd out (#10 Deeds), (1st out was #43 Schaffer on a sac bunt 1-3) of the inning. The batter at the plate at the time of the SB (#2 McDonough), then hit a pop up very near the backstop (the backstop is as far back, as it is at the Florence Freedom Field) that Kennedy made a great catch of and that would have been the 3rd out of the inning, so no HR and CovCath would have come up to the plate in the top of the 6th inning with a 1-1 tie.

That is a nice picture and it sounds as if this was a great ball game. But that pic proves nothing. I don't see the tag in that pic. From that angle, the glove could still be several inches from the runner. Not saying I know one way or another, just that a still pic can be deceiving and you can't (shouldn't) pin a loss on a single play. Not fair to the umps nor the players.
