    Is this close? It looks like they rank the top 40 teams. Anyone have any idea how this poll is put together?

    It is similar but these two polls definitely disagree with each other.

    So hard to rank baseball teams. Whoever is throwing in a given game can move a team up 15-20 ranking spots.

    How do you rank baseball teams? Do you rank them on how they would fare with their ace on the mound? Overall record? Who would win a series?

    Record and strength of schedule among other things are indicators. It certainly is difficult with so many teams. They do a nice job.
