    All-A question: Washington County alignment

Why does Washington County (KHSAA 5th Region) not play in the All-A 5th, but rather in the Danville region?

(They did this for baseball and softball)

Are there any other schools that switch KHSAA/All-A regions?

Have I not been paying attention?

When Monticello was folded into Wayne Co. HS, that left the 12th with only 3 teams that qualified for All A Classic consideration. Washington Co. was a logical choice to move over since it's reasonably close to Danville and Burgin. Even with Bardstown outgrowing the All A and WC moving, the 5th still has Knox, Bethlehem, Caverna, C'ville and Green Co.

The weird by-product of that is that Bethlehem — a 19th District mate with WC — has ended up facing off with WC in pool play at the All A VB state at least twice.
