Default Remember, These Campaign People Are Professionals

In response to the unfair ad put out by a PAC where it implied Bain somehow led to the death of a woman a Gov Romney spokesperson came to his defense.

Andrea Saul, Romney Spox, Gets Pilloried For Mentioning Candidate's Most Important Achievement

"To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney's health care plan, they would have had health care."

How is she so certain they would have had healthcare?

The thing is, though, Saul's logic in citing Romney's creation and implementation of CommonwealthCare in Massachusetts is impeccable. Her baseline argument: If you are going to hit Romney with the Bain practices that allegedly led to this woman losing her health insurance, you surely must credit him for his legislative accomplishments, which enabled thousands of uninsured people to obtain life-saving care. That is, for the most part, pristine reasoning.

The only problem, of course, is that this wasn't offered in 2008, when it would have been hailed as a brilliant defense. We've once again come face to face with the perplexing weirdness at the center of Romney's entire presidential effort: in 2012, Romney is not allowed to run on the singular achievement of his career -- Massachusetts health care -- that earned him a spot in the world of GOP presidential contenders in the first place.

Stand back, folks, professional campaign advisor coming through.

    Geez.

The "game" of politics is always fascinating to me and this situation is why.

How would one justify firing the lady who made the comment about Gov Romney's MA health insurance plan?

I looked up some info on the man claiming that because of Mitt. His wife dies. She had her own insurance fro her work for several years after her husband got laid off. Not sure how him getting laid off could have played part in her getting sick and passing away. Obama crew is looking for any dirt they can but hide the real facts.

Correct. We discuss that in the "it's getting ugly" thread.
