Doubt that he's a VP candidate. He could very well lose his seat in the Senate. I think Kasich makes the best candidate for VP if he can swing OH to the Republicans. Bush or Rubio could pull in FL but I think Rubio is the candidate and Bush isn't interested in the second seat.

Paul's appeal as an outlier got trumped by Trump.

Paul was the number 5 finisher in Iowa. So there are several other candidates continuing their campaigns who finished behind him in Iowa.

Question... the comment stated at the start of the thread is that Paul has suspended his campaign. Is there any significance in him saying his campaign is suspended? Is he leaving the door open to campaign in a later primary?

Probably not. Candidates "suspend" their campaigns instead of "ending" them because of FEC rules. Off the top of my head it gives them more flexibility about how the campaign's money can be used, whether paying off debts or donating excess cash elsewhere.

    Santorum is out also.

I see these votes headed to Rubio.

I totally missed the fact that Santorum was ever in the race. I should learn to read down the lists all the way to the end.

So with him out will Kentucky continue with Republicans voting March 5.

I was not aware of this change until last night and it was to accommodate Rand so he could run for president and also the senate.

I have said all along that the best chance for the Rs is a Rubio-Kasich ticket.

Agreed. Yet I think the best president would have been J.Bush.
