    Default Media bias for Obama

Couldn't sleep and was watching some of the middle of the night talk shows and one of them alluded to a study that said from the major news networks, Obama received and average of 114 minutes of coverage for the month of June and McCain did not recieve 1/2 that much.

IN ADDITION, all 3 major networks are sending their ANCHORS to cover the Obama trip to Iraq. McCain's last trip received no ANCHORS.

It seems Hillary's claim of the networks creating the Obama candidacy holds water.

It seems that the major networks are establishing one candidate's actions are more important than the others.

That gives a media bias and helps that candidate.

Obama's trip seems to be important and THE NEWS with all 3 anchors going while McCain's was a mention on the news.

News should be neutral and they don't seem to be taking that position.

As the first black presidential candidate I can certainly understand why they have additional coverage. The same thing would have happened if it were Clinton. It's historic.

McCain would be the oldest elected President ever. It's historic.

I can't remember when the news was neutral.

Are they not supposed to be reporting news without a tilt?

    Just like the candidate.
I'm with 75center, it's a big deal that a black man is running for President of the US. It's not a big deal that an old white man is running for President.

I definitely felt there was a bias during the primary.

Obama is much more exciting to listen to. Networks go for ratings. We talked about this in another thread.

Its bad when the media creates the candidate. They have the ability to portray him and his opponent in such a way that he always looks great and the opponent looks like an idiot.

So was John F. Kennedy...and because of him we beat the Soviets to the moon. So was Martin Luther King, Jr, and because of him, Civil Rights in our country gained ground.

One of my problems with McCain is that he does not excite me at all. I do watch clips of him from the various networks and never once have I been excited. I have laughed at some of his jokes. Obama does bring some excitement to the table.

Wait until he is the president it will be even more scary to me, and I'm already pretty scared.

Dad, as usual, summed up what I was trying to say much better than I did.
