It's Convention Time!
Will you watch?
I must admit that I usually watch a lot of the coverage. Not sure exactly what comes out of it. It never really has a notable impact on my vote but I do , for some reason, watch them.
You?

Never have been able to watch them for more than a few minutes at a time. Too much of a dog and pony infomercial.

I had planned on watching Rand's speech but not sure how the storm is going to affect the schedule.

I'll usually watch some of the keynote speeches from both conventions. I will certainly watch Romney's & Obama's addresses.

I'll watch some of the major speeches. At least as much as I can tolerate. I like to have a good enough sense of the campaigns to handicap the election. Otherwise, these conventions are intolerable.

Oh hell no. I'm going to and from work. That's it. I'm not going anywhere close to Downtown. I don't think I could if I wanted to. Everything is blocked off. What a waste of time and money.

It seems like the campaign is sticking to the "Obama is removing the work requirement" myth alive and kicking.
Will we hear it in Tampa?

There are reports of rioting downtown.
A friend, working in the Verizon Building, witnessed a group of protestors, dressed in black with gas masks on, tearing up the concrete and metal benches along the street and throwing debris through store fronts.
Nice.
Don't know what they were protesting. The odd part is that the Verizon Building is 10 or 12 blocks from the Convention Center. Further from the Forum.

Just curious, why in the hell to you keep harping on this????
Why does it bother you that he puts his HARD, EARNED money in said accounts? It's his he can do what he wants with it.
I don't hear you getting on the Kennedy's who have Trust Funds set up in financial institutions in more than handful of the Pacific island nations.

The ole used car salesman is running for President. He, in my opinion, is the biggest shady character since Dick Nixon. If you have nothing to hide lets see the tax returns, tell us what you have in offshore accounts and then let the American Voters decide if thats the man they want to represent their interests and feel their pain. A lot of that "hard earned" moola was earned outsourcing jobs to non Americans thru the fabulous BAIN Capital. Give me a break.

Maybe Dusty Baker can endorse Romney. Then your head very well may spin around and pop off.

I've said that I don't care where someone puts money as long as they do it legally.
I saw an interview with Gov Romney. He said that this to-do was nothing as he didn't save $1 in taxes by having his money in the Cayman Islands. Again, I don't care if he does, however, I am a bit disappointed that he would take me for a fool.

He's right, he gains no tax advantages as he is still subject to US taxes on income from those investments.
