Yep, a lot are not getting lazier, they are already lazy and intend to do nothing about it other than sit back and let the government take care of them. SNAP is at an all time high.

That's not how it was explained, or should I say lied to, to the American people.

Remember, if you like your plan you can keep it, if you like your doctor you can keep him/her, etc.

I do think in most ways, safety and wages are addressed by laws on the books now. But I have changed my mind that they are not needed at all. I've come back to believing that unions still have a role, a role on protecting the workers from the same pervasive quest for profits at the expense of the quality of life of the workers. And it's frustrating to see the number of people who don't work manual labor who think they know what is "right" or what "isn't necessary" because they are removed from the realities. In truth, unions paved the way for manufacturing and trades workers to provide the opportunities for parents to give their children to NOT work manual labor. Look at the comments about fast food workers in any of the threads here on BGP when the discussion of minimum wage comes up. They're derisive and condescending toward those workers. Yet, in reality, we NEED those workers.

And spare me the condescension regarding understanding macroeconomics. I may not understand it on the level some of you do. Bit for the majority of Americans, macroeconomics is the theory that is used to justify high profits for companies, while those creating those profits trudge through life with stagnant wages and bear the brunt of the political clout related to the value of corporate profits over the quality of life for workers.
Macroeconomics is a science. It just seems some one the left only like some sciences.

I do love the honesty Bernie brings out in some of our democrat friends. Many hide behind labels of liberal or progressive. Now we see many are socialists at heart and have just been hiding it.

I saw one poster say only 20% of this country doesn't want socialism. I've never read a more false statement. Socialism is opposite of freedom and we are a nation founded on a freedom. There isn't a more anti American platform to run on than socialism. It is shocking and appalling how many democrats agree with it.

I applaud the honesty but Bernie isn't winning over the independents. Doesn't matter who runs Bernie loses.

Why do I get the impression that you haven't read many history books in your young life?

Google Roosevelt's "four freedoms" and then reflect on what "freedom from want" means. "Freedom" means much more than so-called libertarians being able to smoke dope "because they want to."

I've read it , I just think FDR was a con man the most overrated president in history. Also set our economy back with a very slow recovery due to his policy's. I know what your trying to say I just call it one big lie and a manipulation of what true freedom is and always will be

    I think it fits.
You're quote..."Bernie isn't campaigning on how he's going to make this country rich"
Please explain how that has anything to do with my pointing out that like Trump he has not been able to detail how he will pay for his policies, missing by trillions. Doesn't matter what policies they're campaigning on, no one has been able to detail how they'll accomplish them.

Social Security alone may very well have extended the great depression for several years until WWII became a factor. That's often ignored in the "praise FDR" hosanna crowd. In today's environment he would have been impeached, convicted and jailed. No wait, he's a Democrat. Nevermind.

The notion that is commonly expressed that the poor are all poor because they are lazy is such a tired argument. Not all poor folks are shiftless and lazy. Sure some are. In fact, if you take an honest look, many of these lazy folks are working two jobs, or in tough conditions for comparatively low wages. The assumption that everyone receiving "handouts" is just sitting around waiting for their next government check, just isn't true.

I don't believe I ever said they were.

Come to work with me sometime and see all of the "hard working" twenty somethings that don't leave their X Box all day and are on the government dole. It's a larger percentage that you want to believe or admit.
