Trent Richardson to visit Dr. James Andrews
Trent Richardson to visit Dr. James Andrews | ProFootballTalk
So much for Trent Richardson’s knee being nothing to worry about.
Whatever the Browns’ medical staff saw on Richardson’s MRI, they’re worried enough that they’re sending him to see the renowned sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who performed arthroscopic surgery on the same knee in February.
“Trent Richardson is traveling to Pensacola, Fla., where he will have his left knee further evaluated by Dr. James Andrews tomorrow,” Browns coach Pat Shurmur said.
Uh oh...

And I thought about picking his back ups the last two rounds...missed that bus.

I hate this for Richardson and the Browns but if Richardson has to miss the Bengals home opener that is fine by me.

My draft is looking better and better every day, to bad I have nothing to do with it. This sucks, hate this for any rookie into the NFL.

He has a scope scheduled and the Browns think he will play in week one.

I hate that. I don't like the Browns but I am a Richardson fan. I was really excited to see what he does in the NFL. He's such a violent runner! If I'm the Browns I am taking zero risk with him. You have Balt/Cincy/Pitt all a lot better than you. You have a rookie QB that you shouldn't have drafted and nobody to throw the ball too. Hardesty looked good until he got banged up. I would find out what you have in him. If he stinks you know you need a backup. If he's good you have a backup or trade bait. The Browns aren't winning that division this year. No reason to rush him IMO.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time buying this is just a routine "knee scope". If it were that simple, would they really be having him see Dr. Andrews? I have a feeling it's more serious than the Brownies are letting on.
