Why is my money being spent for this?

Page 2 of I agree with nothing they stand for, but yet tax payer money is spent for it. Top US public employee union AFSCME gave \\$65M in 2014, mostly to Democrat... 24 comments | 1065 Views | Go to page 1 →

The largest contributions to food banks are corporate donations of food. Cash donations by individuals are not that much. And collectively, yes, food bank cash donations from individuals would exceed 700k. Cash donations to individual food banks fall far below 700k.

That's like saying lions shouldn't eat zebras. Well, that's what lions do. Same with unions -- and big business -- hiring lobbyists and donating cash to pols so they'll answer the phone when you ring 'em up. It isn't pretty, but that's the way the system works.

Last I saw dude is going to have over 850K in his bank account for being a homophobe. I need to find some group to hate.

Maybe if a homeless shelter said they wouldn't accept gay homeless people then these "Christians" would donate.

I think it's stupid to send money, but good for her.

I disagree. He didn't ask for the GoFundMe, it was done by another entity. I do not believe the government should be in the business of telling me how to run my life, business or religion. Everyone can have their opinions on how this law looks, reads and is implemented. I think the government has enough to manage without going looking for a problem that may or may not be present.

But if you're looking for a group to hate, those of us that want to be left alone by government and it's encroachment is available....both sides hate that position

On the flipside, the family is in hiding and will probably have to close that pizza place. Sounds like they are going to need that 850K.

The issue comes in that membership in a lot of these entities is not voluntary. Or, it may be voluntary, but it really isn't, if that makes sense. So out of a paycheck will be your dues sent off to AFSCME, Teamsters, etc. That is a whole other issue in itself.

So you think these people are homophobes for not wanting to cater a hypothetical same sex marriage? I don't. I guess Obama was a homophobe 5 years ago for being against same sex marriages at that time.

I also don't think they "hate" anybody based on what I have seen from them. I obviously don't know them but nobody else on here does either.
