I think that cammando posted a similar comment the other day.
I'm lukewarm on the comment. You can go to another chicken establishment if you don't like the opinions of one. It won't help to go to another gas station.
Secondly, I'd hope that even those that would boycott a pro-gay marriage establishment would be against the murdering of homosexuals.

I think it effectively highlights the inconsistency of those boycotting.

Life is full of inconsistencies. As TBG said it's all about your options. If you are of the mind to protest against companies that do not support equal rights for gays then you're in a tough spot when it comes to buying gasoline. It doesn't mean you stick your head in the sand and not at least do something (ie choose to not support a chicken joint).

When I was a kid, our church got involved in what I believe was a nationwide boycott against K-Mart. I think I'm right in saying the rationale behind it was that K-Mart was getting involved with selling pornography (perhaps through Waldenbooks?). So churches across the country boycotted the store.
I remember asking my parents if people from church were also going to boycott the Mom & Pop video store in town, because it had a "back room." I was just a little fella at the time & was asking a serious question. When I learned the church probably wouldn't also boycott the video store, I thought it was terribly inconsistent. Still do.

Not voted for him. Turned the TV off when he spoke. Publicly expressed their disapproval with him in various ways.

Did vote for McCain & Bush & no, didn't agree 100% on everything.
My point is that some have decided to boycott CFA based on Cathy's coming out against gay marriage. I just wonder if those same people disapproved as ardently when then candidate Obama stated he was against it as well.

There are a LOT of "progressives" who think the President has not done a)what he said he would do for them and b)been liberal enuogh YET there is no chance in hell they're voting for Mr Romney. They have been vocal about it.
It's why I asked how you boycott. I've got a lot of choices should I choose to boycott CFA. I don't have that when choosing a POTUS.

There was not a "pro-gay marriage" candidate to support. I didn't vote for a candidate based on their stance toward gay marriage (which I'll remind everyone again, that I am in favor of "marriage" being a purely religious instituation, while allowing anyone of legal age to enter into a civil union with anyone else of legal age), but I would assume that those that are gay voted for the candidate that they felt would be the mostly likely to help their overall agenda.

I guess I boycott differently. I'm "boycotting" Mitt Romney this year (meaning I'm not voting for him).
I don't doubt there has been some frustration with President Obama from some of his supporters, but I don't believe they have been as vocal with him for his stance than they have been with Mr. Cathy & his stance.
