Some pics on Facebook showing members of the community and police holding hands and praying together.

I hear ya Ref, but probably like a lot of people, they were afraid of getting mugged or killed by the idiots robbing and vandalizing.

On one hand, not fair, too dangerous.

On the other hand, we need better leadership in this country and I agree it should be preemptive.

I imagine they were trying to follow the police instructions to stay out of the way during the worst part. They have my utmost respect and admiration and I'm sure the appreciation of the authorities and other concerned citizens.

It may sound odd, but I am starting to think the riots and looting that took place Monday were a blessing in disguise for this country. Maybe it took those events to finally wake this country up and the change and belief of better ways to get your message across has risen from the ashes (pun intended) from Baltimore.

These pictures and these stories are finally starting to drown out the negative stuff about what is going on in Baltimore. I'm loving what we are getting to see now.

That's the problem with the media. These reporters make more money if they report what is controversial and what sells.

    Thanks for sharing Guru.

They only sell what people will buy. To find out why the media behaves the way it does, we have to take a long, hard look at ourselves.

One of those great little facts of history is that while the Weathermen and a couple hundred of their supporters were carrying out the "Days of Rage" in downtown Chicago in 1969, the mainstream elements of SDS in addition to the Black Panthers and other groups held a completely peaceful rally in opposition to the Vietnam War in a working class area of Chicago's west side that was attended by many thousands. Guess which event got all the press coverage...
