Do you see where this is in no way compatible to what we're discussing?

The publics want us in our "own" state championship game, and they in theirs. So, then you have two state champions, with no real "state" champion.

It's not the same at all.
No Manual doesn't compete against the publics at all until it gets to a National level, they have their own regional championship, exactly like the privates would have under prop 20. St.X and Trinity would still be open to the Mythical National Championship the same as the Publics are. It is the same thing. Manual had an advantage, so they were put in a seperate competition. The Privates have a numbers advantage so they would be placed in a seperate competition.

Well, then that's even more of an advantage for Manual; you are guaranteed to go to Nationals.

The fact that you guys go on to compete for one single national title, and have the opportunity to be known as THE champion is fair.

The fact that after the State title, there's nothing else for high school athletes to compete for, makes it ridiculous to say that separate playoffs and championships is in any way comparable to Manual's own division in the Sciene Fair. It's not like we compete for national titles in athletics. State is it.

The fact that you mention Mythical National Title, leads me to believe that you know this. It's NOT the same at all. Not at all.

At one time I was a supporter of the so called "super district" that was floated about in Jefferson County several years ago. Basically all schools that had open enrollment would have been placed in one district. I could grudgingly accept that type of arrangement now if it would allow our kids to continue to compete in state championships against all schools.
It is the same thing on the state level as seperate championships for the privates. We would all still compete for the mythical national title just like Manual and the rest of the publics compete for the National Science fair. You all are acting like this stuff has never happened before and you are being picked on, but we have been doing this for years. It is called the class system, right now St.X and Trinity have a huge numbers advantage over the rest of the public schools in the state, they technically could be a class 5A all by themselves. I don't think any school in Kentucky has a legit claim to a state title they only have a claim to a class title, this would just be another class.

Yeah just like either X or T will almost have a 50-50 shot at a title every single year. And actually you do compete for a National ranking and title every year.

Ram....look. Here's the deal. IF there were something MORE that one representative of each the private schools and the publics could compete in to gain an OVERALL title, then that would be different.

THERE IS!!! The NATIONAL TITLE!!! In fact if the split happened it would open the schedule for you to play more regional powers and win the National title.

Ram, are you a farmer? You sure seem to have access to a lot of manure. It isn't the same and you know it. I have heard one proposal to put Trinity and x into the same region. I wouldn't think it was fair, but I could live with it. How about all of the Louisville 4A schools in two districts just like it is now. The difference would be that those two districts would be in the same region.

You want to rephrase that for me! Again with the personal attacks. Can't you win a debate without that?

Are the public schools going to foot the bill for that travel?

First go back and read the thread and where that discussion started. I never said it was the same thing. All Tell was saying that Manual was blameing Trinity for something that Manual did as well and I said from the beginning that they were apples and oranges, that sports and academic were different. But if youare going to bring it up well there is a precident at Manual for being spilt because we have an advantage. I was not suggesting that we SHOULD split. I am merely pointing out that if you are going to point to Manual's academic advantages then you should be aware that there is a parallel prop 20 there.

I thought you guys were so good at raising money to support those kids you love so much? Field turf cost more than Bus trips.
