The problem really is just Trinity & Saint X., right?

    This is laughable.

    If this is the case.

Here is how your playoffs would look:

In A - 8 teams, statewide. And there hasn't been a state champ in A in 50 years, at least in football, wy punish the little people.

AA - 2, what a playoff that would be.

AAA - 1, show up, your state champ!!! HOOOO RAY, when's the parade.

AAAA - 3 , holy cow, Trinity and X playing for the 5th time this year.

And again you are stating from a view that life revolves around football. KHSAA has several other sports that your playoffs would look a lot different.

Ok, how many private schools do you think there are state wide?

    48. That was in the Herald Leader article. 280 schools in KHSAA. Private schools make 17% of the member schools.

I don't think so. I would say there are some other schools, albeit Louisville/Lexington private schools that have possibly won more state championships over the past 10 years.

I would say Sacred Heart or Lexington Catholic has the most state team championships over the past 10 years. They have won the last 5 in girls basketball.

A private school has won the last three 3A girls state cross country state titles and eight of the last 11 1A girls state titles. I agree that the issue transcends past football.

For the sake of arugment, take out Trinity/X/Assumption/Sacred Heart and what does that do to the percentages? (I have no idea, because I haven't done it).

Also, who were the runners up in all the sports?

In girls basketball, Lex Catholic was runnerup to Sacred HEart twice, I believe.

If we are going to pick and choose which schools to pull out of the equation, than we should pick and choose some public schools to pull out of the equation also?

No, I really think the moajority of these guys see T& X and see no way to compete, the issue is not the small 1a and 2a or even the 3a, schools they see T&X and hate them. Take them out and see what the numbers do.

The numbers were quoted in the Herald Leader article and I took them from there. Have no clue on the total numbers so cannot figure that up.

No, but my question is, without T/X/A/SH, are the runners up consistently the same schools?

I think a better question would be are the same schools losing to them in the semi-finals.

I'll bet if you take T&X out the number of State Title's won by a private school are under 10%, out of 17% of the school's.
