Scott County middle school teacher (Sub) has .317 blood alcohol level while teaching

I am glad to see the powers that be acted quick.

And .317, wow, lucky she even made it to school.

Makes me wonder how many teachers "drink a little bit" during the school day and fly under the radar.

    From the article:

"On Monday, April 15, 2019, a substitute reported to Royal Spring Middle School to fill a half-day opening in the afternoon. The substitute demonstrated erratic behavior. School staff acted immediately upon learning of this behavior. Scott County Sheriff’s Department escorted the substitute off school grounds later charging her with alcohol intoxication. The individual is no longer employed by Scott County Schools in any capacity."

I had an English teacher in high school that I’m certain had booze in her coffee daily.

Yikes! That’s a tad more than spiking your coffee. .317 puts you in the pros!

That's not just pro's. That's nearly a deadly, non functioning level. She said she only had 4 shots of vodka. No way you blow a .317 on only 4 shots.

You wouldn't blow .317 on four shots of unleaded, much less vodka.

All depends on when the shots were taken in relationship to when she blew. I would bet the .317 was for a PBT(preliminary breathe test) and not an actual Intoxilyzer which is used for DUI cases if blood isn't drawn. Regardless it sounds like this female has a problem if she's still drinking at the school while substituting.

Right, if it was a PBT (we have no way of knowing) it could have been one shot but I agree with you @sportsfan41 she has a problem and the amount doesn't matter.

I'd have to drink to be a middle school teacher.

I’m a middle school teacher. I confiscated a bottle of urine this week. I mean, I get it.

That’s in the dangerous zone for sure. That much alcohol in the body is pretty much alcohol poisoning.
