This is pathetic. Those who have turned this into an issue should be ashamed of themselves.

Second question, why the need to have this type of event in the first place?
The lady had an opinion. Problem was she was in the foyer after leaving during the Muslim Invocation. Missed all the other Christian groups and speakers. She also missed the speaker she criticized. An opinion formed that way isn't much of an opinion if you ask me.

And her opinion incited other non- attendees into criticism with her misinformation.

But its still just an opinion. We all have them. She has a right to post/express it.

Correct. And we in turn have the right to consider her a bigot as a result of it.

You have a right to express it. You also have the consequences that come from not seeking to find out the truth rather than relying on hearsay and unsubstantiated conjecture.

    Agreed.

Honestly I have a bigger issue with why the need for the event in the first place.

Tradition is the only answer I can come up with. But since it was heavily student driven, I give them kudos for being active in planning and executing the service.

The fact is that this woman did this to a 17 or 18 year-old student. That is a joke.

I wonder how many of the bigots in Danville can spell "baccalaureate."

Why the need for the graduation ceremony? What about senior night for football or baseball or basketball ect... Or pretty much any other program/ceremony?

She certainly does. The bigger problem could be a sizable number of Americans who can't tell the difference between a blog post and a news article.

I know, that's why I included "graduation ceremony" in my post.

You have an issue with the need to have this event, my question to you is why the need for any of the ceremonies/celebrations/progams we have for what ever event? What's your issue with this one?

I read a transcript of the prayer said by the girl. What am I missing? What did the blogger get upset about? It seems her argument is that the ceremony should be limited to Christianity.
