I don't know. That seems reasonable. I'm not sure what else the KHSAA could do. They both are forfeiting their games tomorrow, against Sheldon Clark and Shelby Valley, respectively. I hope Sheldon Clark and Shelby Valley can play each other so neither of them have to miss a game. I was intrigued by the suspension for the players lasting through the district tournament. I assume he'd be eligible for the region tournament if they make it that far?

That was my first question as well when I saw that part.

Sad, Sad that you can throw a punch like that and the KHSAA will only suspend you until the end of districts.

Sorry, but I don't think a harsh, mandated punishment would have altered the kids thinking. I'm not saying there shouldn't be any punishment or consequences. But I just don't believe punishment is a great deterrent. People knowingly break laws every day and are fully aware there will be consequences if caught. basically, my point is no matter what the KHSAA decides, or enacts, we will never be able to completely get rid of this sort of behavior.
I agree with you, it won't be a deterrent for some, but when you have your friends/team counting on you, if may help. Plus, there shouldn't be someone like this on any HS field of play. I also agree with you that no matter what the KHSAA does, it will not stop this behavior from players, coaches, parents and other fans, but we can't sit back and allow it to happen without punishment. If a parent who comes onto the field/court and shoves a coach/player/official, and they are banned from ever watching a HS sporting event again in KY going to stop everyone? No, but it will make most others think a bit before they possibly act.

Again, I don't disagree....punishment is necessary. I just don't think you can come up with a magic bullet punishment that will prevent this behavior from happening. I don't care how harsh it is. The thought of consequences is the last thing that's going through someone's mind in a situation like this. Punishment rarely changes behavior in any situation, simply because it always occurs after the fact.

Just read a thread on Cats Illustrated. If true, seems the LC kid got what was coming to him. Made threats, boasted he was going to meet him after the game. It seemed it was ongoing. Mentioned the LC kid's dad was also jawing in the stands about what his kid was going to do. Moral of the story, actions speak louder than words.

The KHSAA is a joke. The kid from PCC being eligible to play again this year is pathetic.
