NFL Anthem "Policy" - Winners and Losers

Page 13 of I think it is pretty simple, the players are losers because the NFL can fine teams into submission if any players fail to tow the company line. The NFL... 187 comments | 16784 Views | Go to page 1 →

I realise I never answer the question of winners and losers. So here you go.
Winners- everyone that doesn't want to see these overpaid clowns disrespect.

Losers- they already were when they didn't stand for the anthem.

So here is my biggest problem. Protesting during the national anthem clearly touches many people in different ways. A lot, like me, see it as the wrong forum and find it “very offensive” to memories of those lost protecting this country or sacrificing daily serving it
Why not do something a little differntly? If you believe in the protest that strongly. Why not sit out games? Why not have the NFL. NBA. NHL MLB MLS just simply refuse to play in protest. Shut the leagues down! That will drawl more attention than they could ever want. The only people offended by this display would be the owners that most so adimently hate.
Do the paychecks get in the way for the players?
If that is the reasoning the. You are not that strongly committed in my opinion. If you are t that strongly committed then why “offend “ so many by kneeling during the anthem
Because the point of the protest during the anthem is also a statement about the current state of the country.

It would only make sense to sit out of a game if they were protesting against the league. You don’t protest against the country during something that doesn’t have anything to do with the country.

In my opinion that is not the way you go about a protest. If your goal is to offend is desecrate the honor of those who have fought and died, them mission accomplished. There are other ways to go about s protest and this is simply not it. While you are making your point, you are also offending the majority in this country and I don’t see how this can be helping your cause. Even if it is 25% of the people offended I don’t see how that’s helping your cause
Find a way that doesn’t desecrate the memories of our defenders Don’t show a careless attitude

I also disagree that if you shut down the professional sports. That will get immediate attention and maybe force a dialogue. All the anthem protests do is force a decisive prolonged dialogue that just divides.

OP: Winners and Losers? Truth is the loser right now. This has become a contest of wills and focus is off the original stated reason for the protest. @TAC, The Eagles were "uninvited" to the White House because too few of the team were going to go. Many players refused to go as a protest against Trump's vocal opposition to players kneeling during the anthem.

I personally oppose kneeling during the anthem. My opinion really is just my own and I don't expect it to matter to anyone else.

But this is what I care about... truth. Forget the protest and the protests against the protest for a moment.

Is it true that the police routinely and unfairly shoot African-American men as a result of systemic racism? Is Kap correct, "There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder." Kap contends that there are thousands of black men lying dead in the streets and the police are murdering them without consequence.

If Kap is accurate in what he says, then we have a HUGE problem of injustice in our country that must be addressed and corrected.

If what Kap says is false then we have a huge problem in our country regarding misinformation and that must be addressed and corrected.

Either error brings with it grave consequences. Answer these questions and we remove at least one barrier to race relations in our country.

Right now, the issue has become the manner of protest and whether we allow that.
We have lost sight of the reason for the protest, which is a far more important matter.

And not a single Eagle knelt during the anthem last season.

So should black people who are Americans enjoy singing the anthem? Why don’t we sing the last verse with the anthem? Isn’t omitting the last verse disrespectful to the military also?
